Extraterrestrial : NASA would be sending a robotic craft to Jupiter’s frozen moon Europa. A humongous ocean is allegedly trapped under the moon’s frozen surface according to the space organization. Moreover, they are considering the possibility that aliens might be swimming in it.

NASA: Aliens Hiding On Europa

The space organization released three goals it is considering related to the upcoming search for life. The agency stated that its primary goal is to search for proof of life on the frozen moon. “The other goals are to assess the habitability of Europa by directly analyzing material from the surface,” the agency said.

The agency wanted to characterize Europa’s surface and subsurface for further robotic exploration of Europa and its ocean. The space agency started considering the type of craft it would utilize to discover aliens in the alleged trapped ocean. The space agency is reportedly creating underwater robotic explorers that will make use of artificial intelligence to discover life.

However, the agency will try to deploy a lander on Europa. The lander will be used for performing reconnaissance. The lander will also be deployed to search for actual evidence located under the frozen crust of the ocean, News Corp revealed.

“Scientists agree that the evidence is quite strong that Europa, which is slightly smaller than Earth’s moon, has a global saltwater ocean beneath its icy crust,” the agency said. “This ocean has at least twice as much water as Earth’s oceans.” The agency stated that current discoveries showed that several bodies in the solar system contain subsurface oceans.

In addition, it is known that Europa’s ocean is in contact with a rocky sea floor. Another place having similar characteristics is Saturn’s moon Enceladus, the space agency said. Europa is a high priority target in the search for proof of life beyond Earth due to such rare traits.

The agency will be deploying a Carrier Relay Orbiter along with a lander. The devices will be sent in the mid-2020s and will reach Europa after five years. The lander will spend 20 days looking for evidences.

Europa is extremely thick to be drilled, but the machine will be collecting samples from 4-feet below the moon’s surface. This, according to The Christian Science Monitor, would be adequate to understand whether life exists on the distant moon. But if the machine is unable to locate any form life underneath, then the instruments could also be used to fulfill other goals.
