Ranveer Singh injures his head on ‘Padmavati’ set, continues shooting
Ranveer Singh was injured on the head while shooting the climax of “Padmavati” here, a source close to the actor said, adding that he sought medical aid and returned to shoot soon after.
The incident took place at the film’s set here on Thursday, the source said. “Ranveer hurt himself on the head while shooting for the film during a particular take but he was so engrossed in the performance that he did not realise it till cut was called. It was only after he started bleeding profusely from the head after ‘cut’ was called, did everyone realise that he was hurt badly.
“Ranveer received initial first aid on the set and was rushed immediately to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment. He completed the basic treatment and returned to the film’s set to complete his portions of the shoot. Rather than let his injury slow him down or impact the shoot, Ranveer completed the day’s work. He requires stitches on the head,” added the source. The actor will be see as Alauddin Khilji in the period drama, which also features Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. It is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
New Delhi: Known for his eclectic, quirky and eccentric fashion style, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh can carry any ensemble with absolute panache. The actor says he is a self-proclaimed aficionado of eyewear and feels more than happy about his fans and well-wishers following his trends.
Ranveer, who endorses eyewear label Carrera, was here to launch the new campaign for the brand.
Talking about his love for sunglasses, Ranveer told IANS here: “I’m a self- proclaimed aficionado of eyewear.”
Be it bright colours, elaborate prints or out-of-the-box silhouettes, Ranveer has been praised for his bold looks. The actor says his style is not by intent.
As to how he feels about all the appreciation coming his way, Ranveer says: “It feels wonderful… it’s not by intent or by design… it just happened that a couple of years into show business, I decided I’m not going to try and make an attempt… a futile attempt to sort of fit into some kind of expectations or moulds of looking or dressing.”
The 31-year-old star says he just wears what makes him happy.
“I just decided to wear and do what I want and make the choices of clothes that I want to wear that make me happy… free and liberated from critiques and judgements. When I finally started dressing for myself is when I started being perceived as one who stands out…,” he added.
The ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ star finds it “heartwarming” to see his style being widely followed.
“After ‘Goliyon ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’, I saw people keeping handlebar moustaches, beards and all… I never imagined my style will be so widely imitated but it’s a good place to be… I am very happy about it,” he said.
Talking about the association with Carrera, he said: “For me, it was a very proud moment when I was approached by the leading eyewear brand… approaching you to be the first ever Indian brand ambassador; it was a very proud moment. That’s like a milestone and an achievement for me.”
